So I had a gallon jug of a very inexpensive local grape wine. It sat around in the back of the cupboard for a few years, then I saw it a few days ago and pulled it out. I drank it pretty quickly over the course of a few days, thinking to myself ... wow, this wine is really good. When it was gone, I picked up another jug, and was disappointed when it tasted 'funny'. Then I remembered that's how it always tasted young, it's just that sitting for a few years it really mellowed out and got very good.
