While wifey has been letting me sssssslowly go back to fixing up my '51 Westinghouse kegerator (currently just an overflow fridge) the first thing I wanted to do was fix the dents that were put there the day of its arrival, when the straps gave way and it fell over in the back of a pickup truck. My heart sank because aside from needing some paint she had no cosmetic issues. Now there were new ridges dented into it damn near 1/4" deep at its worst!

Since I re-caught the bug to fix this up, I wanted desperately to get the dents out at least. Since it is still in service holding a fair amount of food, I compromised with the Mrs and had to find a way I could do it without having to take the door off.

Enter this little guy:
Pos-a-Dent

I figured it was worth a try for the money. And it worked like a DREAM. The worst of the dents popped out of the damn near 70 year old steel like it was nothing!

Enter some layers of bondo spot putty after all the pulling, and I am more than satisfied with the results.

Later this week I'll get the smaller dent on the other edge of the door.
And hopefully before the summer is out, some fresh colors!

Nice job! I love those old fridges, I have a Frigidaire built in 1949 and works awesome.
I was tempted to start a thread showing just the vintage kegerators once mine is done. With enough searching you can find them here, but for half of those threads the pictures are gone now.

All of these appliances were acquired at the low, low, price of free-ninety-nine.

You should start that thread! I see @grampamark sorta got you started. Here’s mine.

once mine is more worthy of showing off, I definitely will.
Right now I have to decide on color....and how to do it.
Moving it back upstairs isn't an option, and i'm unsure about covering the entire world in plastic sheeting to spraypaint in the basement. So I may actually try a high density foam roller, and then prepare to wet sand the hell out of it.
