Hey guys , quick question. I just got into making a couple of 5 gallon batches of fruit mead.After a month should I rack it like you would when making wine? I’ve been making wine for several years and wanted to try something different.
Thanks for any advice.

Yes, rack to secondary to get it off the yeast and get all the fruit out. After it clears and settles a while in the secondary I usually get another inch of yeast and other stuff settling on the bottom of the carboy and I'll rack it again to another clean carboy to bulk age for a year or three before bottling it. I'm actually thinking about getting a five gallon oak barrel to use for bulk aging.
