Hello again, just bottled my first batch this past Saturday and purchased another BB kit, "Scottish Ale" today. The kit has a ABV of only 3.25-3.5%. I have read about using honey to boost the alcohol content of your brew. My dad has a pretty extensive maple syrup operation so I have lots of it handy. I was wondering if maple syrup would also work to boost the ABV a bit, and perhaps give a bit of a sweet taste to my beer? Anyone have any experience doing this?

Boost alcohol? Yes but don't expect any sweetness as the simple sugars in maple syrup will pretty much ferment out. Bear in mind that that beer is supposed to be @ 3.5% ABV and the flavors and hops in the recipe are tuned to those numbers. Simply increasing the alcohol percentage in the beer is easily possible by adding more fermentable goods but you run the risk of ending up with an out of balance product.
