Hi guys, just bought my first kit to create a 'London bitter' currently on the 8th day of fermenting. I've started to notice what appear to be small orange bit at the top and am worried my ale may be infected? I've attached a photo (its as clear as i could get it as the fermenting hold they gave me isnt transparent! Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Hard to tell from the pic, could be spice or trub that got kicked to the surface and not necessarily an infection. Just let the beer run its course and see how it turns out. Best of luck!

Ahh well I'll just have to wait and see! All about learning I guess, thanks bud!

To late to do anything about it if something is wrong. Relax. Have a homebrew.

You beat me to it.
Advice for all "Did I just ruin my beer" questions... it doesn't really matter now does it? Rarely is the answer, "Yes, yes you just ruined your beer so dump it out NOW!"
You'll learn a ton by keeping a log of every batch. Make notes of possible mistakes you've made but keep it going, see what happens.
If that beer is infected you'll find out eventually and nothing you can do will change it anyways. THIS is some of the 'fun' of this hobby. Relish it.

Keep us posted on how this beer goes please?

Very true and good advice. I've got the old new nerves I think. Things seem to be going as they should!

I shall update on how it all turns out in the end, and i'll have to be as patient as possible!

like ale should. Guess the orange bits weren't anything to be worrying about! Cheers for the advice on patients!

Dont get too antsy. You still have a 3 week bottle condition hangin over your head. Patience...patience... Its all good just let it do its thing. Search is your friend. (login out first helps). Cheers:mug:
