Well I've been using Oxyclean for a while now to clear my carboys and buckets. Today I filled up two of the carboys and added the Oxy. Since the crud I was trying to get rid of was around the top part I got the bright idea of corking to mouth and flipping it upside down after shaking them up some. After leaving them outside for the afternoon I when to empty them. Upon removing the bungs I found out that Oxyclean creates quite a lot of gas while it works :drunk: The only thing that kept the bungs in was the fact the carboy was wieghing them down. The first one blew out the bung the minute I took pressure off it and the other erupted like a volcano. Would have made a hell of a mess if they hadn't been outside. Got good and clean though.

Yeah, I think it works by releasing oxygen. So that makes sense. Pretty cool effect, huh?

At least it stays true to its name...LOL

Next time that you do this try one of the store brand oxyclean knockoffs and save some money. :)
I do, I buy mine at Big Lots. I get twice as much for the same cost. I just refer to it as Oxyclean since that is what is familiar to everyone.
