Adding water to the cooled Wort ?

I know the same questions are always asked but I just read how to brew and they say that once you are done cooling the wort and you have added it to the primary to make sure you have 5 gallons. He says if you dont have 5 gallons to add unboiled water to the primary to hit your 5 gallon line.

So my question is wont this unboiled water contaminate the wort ?
 
Like everything else in brewing there is usually more than one "RIGHT" way to do something.

I and many folks top off with UNBOILED tap water with no problems all the time, if you're not having a boil water advisory in your area, you tap water is really safe to use...I mean think about it, if it's safe enough for you to drink (which 99% of municipal water systems are) then it is safe to brew.
