I'm brewing an American Blonde from a extract kit I got from my local brewing store. This is the second brew I have done.

I wanted to throw a little twist on it by adding roasted pecans and dried rose pedals. I'm putting the secondary fermentation into a 5 gal carboy with 4 oz pecans and 1 oz rose pedals. My question? I have a few:

How long should it sit in the secondary fermentation?

Should I SLIGHTLY tip it to shake the flavorings in it?

If I want to add more of something down the road as I take a sample, how should I go about that?? I don't want to put a lot of oxidation into it and get off flavorings.

I know I have a million questions, but I want to make sure I learn, so don't kill me right away ha ha

Let it sit for as long as you want. Test it to see if it has the taste you want. If it doesn't, let it sit. If it does, rack it. You can add more if the taste isn't coming out to what you want. You will be find with oxygen. Just don't splash it and try not to sample it too much.
