Well yesterday I emptied my first keg. It was a good IPA. It's life was short, but was loved by me day in and day out. I will miss that little IPA. Let's all have a moment of silence please.

It is a sad time in one's life, but unlike a family member or a pet, your IPA can easily be replaced and you'll soon forget it ever existed. :)

A really sad day is when your 2/3 full keg decides to leave on it's own all over your basement floor. Oh my lovely lager, I hardly knew ye! ;-)

Cheers!

Man, from the title of the post I thought he was selling all his equipment or something. Kicking the keg is a good day for me, because it means I have room to brew something new!

kicking a keg is a good day, becuase it time to place another keg in the fridge and to be drank.. of something new

Ditto, I usually get tired of a beer that is on tap and look forward to it being empty so I can try the next brew.

Yeah ive got an imperial stout on tap thats been there for going on almost 2 years now. Such a big beers its tough to drink. I see it going that way soon.....that will be a sad day.

What's truly sad is that you have a hefe backing up an IPA, yuck.

I love my hefe. It has a great taste, but then again I am not a hop head. This IPA was good only after it sat and mellowed out for over a month.

It wouldn't have been such a sad day had I planned properly and had something to put in the keg. I have the stuff for a dead guy clone and an Irish Red so I guess I need to get off my butt and brew one of them before the hefe is gone and I have to resort to store bought.

Sounds like you've got it figured out Stanley, having the next brew ready to go on tap on a moments notice is always nice.

not sure I agree entirely with that sentiment. Some kegs have been more memorable than others. Yes, it can be replaced. But some will still be so good or distinct that their memory will easily outlive their uh, keglife.

I hoist a toast to the memory of THOSE beers. :):tank:
