Basically a keg I use primarily for naturally carbing my next batch. I would cut the the dip tube by some amount (this is what i'm not sure of) and then once its carbed and I have space in the kegerator I would transfer it to one of the kegs for the fridge.
What I'm not sure of is the whole modifying the dip tube thing, when I rack it from the "carbing keg" to the kegerator keg I want to use an out to out connection but get as little of the trub/yeast that develops from the natural carb process. I'm not sure how much to cut off the dip tube, I would be a little worried about doing something that prevents the keg from functioning normally in the future as well. Leaving a 1/2 pint in the keg because the tube doesn't reach all the way isn't that bad though.
