Heading away for 2 weeks soon so was thinking of brewing beforehand and leaving it to ferment while away. Would be around 3-4 weeks max in primary
Have an STC so temp control should be fine.

Only ever done 2 weeks max before in primary.

I was wondering if there would be any issues with this approach (dead yeast cells etc) and does any particular style work better for this length in primary?

Cheers for any advice :)

Can't remember where I read it, but autolysis doesn't happen until after months in the fermenter. 3-4 weeks is no problem. In fact, you will probably be able to re-use that yeasy...it will still be viable.

One month ago (3 Jan), I re-used yeast from an Amer brown ale in primary for 4 weeks for a 1.080 OG Dragon's Milk clone. It started fermenting within 3 hours. The DM is still in primary now.
