Just upgraded my ball valve and NPT fittings for my cooler mash tun from 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch. Still have a false bottom with a 3/8 inch fitting and ordered a coupler to allow a 3/8 barb on the inside of the cooler so that I can attach hose from the valve to the FB. The outflow barb is standard 1/2 inch. Anyone force any problems with this? The only thing I can think of is possibly some air introduction (the 3/8 size not being able to fill up the 1/2 valve fully) but not sure that it matters at this step in the process even if it does. Also looking to upgrade to quick disconnect fittings for my kettle and pump. Any recommendations on that? Pump is 1/2 in and 3/8 inch out (to accommodate my current counterflow chiller.) Thanks.
