Hello to all,

I was working on my 2nd brew today...moving it to the carboy so I could attempt my 1st dry hopping...I dry hopped using hops that were in pellet form...all went well, but I have a small layer of what almost appears as krausen floating on top....all this after 4 hours....and to be honest, I wanst expecting that

I just had to ask....is this normal after adding dry hops????

attached is a picture of what formed on top

Looks pretty normal. It'll settle into a layer that looks like green pond scum after a day or so. A couple of days before you're ready to bottle or keg start giving the carboy a gentle shake a compile of times a day and most will settle to the bottom.

most of it did finally drop to the bottom with some of the trub....but there is just a little of the fine hop dust scattered across the top...another 7 days and its off to the bottling bucket!!!!
