Got into brewing before being deployed and they sat in a better bottle and a bottling bucket for about 4 months. I came back on leave and both are infected. Little white floaters with an oil like sheen on the surface. What should I do? Throw both fermenters out. These are my 8th batch I believe guess new tubing and fermenters and auto siphon? Can they be salvaged or just dump them

I would taste them first before dumping, and if they are infected I would would just wash everything with a strong bleach solution and make a inexpensive batch so if there is a problem you didn't spent a lot.

A picture might help, and yes like a few capfuls of bleach and like a gallon or so of water.

Taste it when you take a pic if it is sour then you have your answer if it tastes like flat beer then you should be ok.

I bet they're not infected. Post pictures. If they are, I know what you shouldn't do: bottle them and pass them off as "sour beer". If they are, I would recommend using a very weak bleach solution, followed by iodophore, followed by starsan, with thorough rinsing in between each step.

Two pics from bucket two from a better bottle. Both have a sheen almost film layer with white floaters
