Hi, I am looking for help with a problem in my first wheat beer. recipe 6.5lbs wheat 4lbs Pils. As I'm about to pitch the yeast i notice a murkiness in the wort, which I discover is small pieces of grain. There is a lot of it too. I vorlaufed 1 gallon at mash and 2 sparges. Is this normal for a wheat beer (the haze?) or do I have a major problem? thanks.

I can't recall having that exact problem. However it will fall from suspension during fermentation. You don't really wanna do a secondary however because the yeasties you do wanna keep. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Well, straining it will expose you to more bugs. If it were me in your circumstance, I'd pitch the yeast.

Or throw it out...

But I'd pitch yeast and see what it comes out like, contemplate what I could have done differently, look at my equipment, etc.
