My 1st try at AW has an off flavor, at least I think. I've done about 10 batches of wine in my life, all grape. Maybe I just need to get used to it, but it has a bit of a, umm, kind of rubbery, sourness flavor / odor. It doesn't taste like fusels. I fermented at 72' for 6 weeks and bottled today. The only thing I can think is that I fermented in a hallway that gets a lot of light during the day.
I just put 4 gal into a corny to carb and am drinking the other gallon still. Unless it should get better, I don't think I'll make another batch... I'm on glass 4 tonight, and so far, less than enjoyable. Does anybody else ferment in a well lit environment with good results? or maybe is that the problem?

I'm no expert, but I doubt it. My understanding was that light mostly causes problems with the alpha acids in hops. I doubt you hopped your cider.

I have fermented in a well-lit hallway without trouble.

How was your sanitation?
