Does anyone make a 15 gallon round cooler? I want to use a cooler for my mash tun in my AG system. I have a keg for my HLT and a vollrath 15gal stock pot for my brew kettle. I would prefer a round MLT to a square/rectangle mlt. I've noticed all the bigger coolers have lines etc. on the inside where the round coolers are completely smoothe. Has anyone heard of a 15 gallon round cooler?

Why does it have to be round? If you have a 15 gallon pot the the most you will be brewing is 10 gallon batches. A 15 gallon MT would be overkill for most beer unless you want to brew really big beers.

I have to agree though, if you want a 15 gallon mash tun you can't beat a keg...

Well, I've noticed that the round coolers on the inside are nice and slick and clean. No wierd lines/ledges/grooves/whatever on the inside of them. I want one for ease of clenliness. 10 gallon for 10 gallon brews is WAY too small unless I keep it under 7%ish.. I like the 6-9% beers. 6% no prob. 8-9% beers you run out of room in your mlt. I have a keg for a MLT right now and i LOVE the size. But grain disposal is a pain with the 12' hole in the top. A cooler is an easier choice. I have a HERMS system(currently in the works. I have a keggle and a 15 gallon stock pot and one burner. It works if i use a bucket to catch the first 3 runnins off of a batch sparge then fill the MLT up, drain the HLT, then sparge back into the HLT making it the brew kettle. only a matter of time... *EVIL GRIN*...till it's done.) only 2 burners in a HERMS system. One on the brew kettle and one on the HLT. The more I look at the 15-18 gallon coolers the more I think I will end up ultimately going with a 3rd keg. :( However, if someone made a 15 gallon cooler I would buy it. Even if it were $200. No lip for the grain to get caught on when dumping. Nice and slick on the inside. Just loving my 5 gallon round cooler I got for mini mashes for those cold, cold brew days when extract seems so much warmer.:drunk:

Iv been looking for the same thing with no success, wanting to go into the 10% area and with out a bigger MT sugar is the only way. The 10 gallon is fine for the 6% and lower beers but the second you go higher the 30lbs of grain max capacity kicks in and thwarts your plans. (brewing 15 gallon batches.) Was planing a barley wine next and to get that high ill have to add 8 lbs of sugar and reduce the batch size to 11 gallons. If you find any info on a bigger cooler please post about it.
Update: reading the forms for a few hrs on a diff subject paid off http://www.minibrew.com/ has 15 gallon MT for a price.

Ouch! Yea, I think I'd go for a MoreBeer or Blichmann kettle if I were going to pay that much. Like everyone else, I've searched all over for a round 15 gallon cooler. I like the fact that they are much lighter than a SS kettle or keg...and they are already insulated. Via Google, I cannot find anything referencing a larger size (more than 10g) water cooler used by the NFL. Most of my brews are IPA's and use more than 25 pounds of grain; so I do what I can in the 10g MLT and use DME for the remainder.

bubba keg sells a big cooler, $99 on amazon
