Have a chance to get a 15.5 gallon Bud Lite keg for $30. I want to make a 15 gallon stainless brewpot (keggle). Found it on craiglist, so my question is this, is this unethical as the keg belongs to Anheuser Busch and this person never returned it or should I not worry and just get it?

Here we go! yes it is unethical as it belongs to the brewery. Now if your going to buy a false bottom from me then I say go for it! JKJKJK there are other ways to get kegs. Legal kegs!
Just my .02
Cheers
Jay

Unless you won't be able to look at yourself in the mirror afterwards, I say get it.
AB won't go under because they lost that keg, or even a few thousand.

Everyone has their own view on the subject. Does it matter to you if you potentially take money from a big corporation? Is it any different than taking it from a small brewery? Ask yourself these questions and if you'll feel the slightest bit bad about doing it, then don't buy it.

Since you felt obliged to ask here, then your probably better off buying a stock pot. Also, I have standards for my kegs - can't have any with the bud light emblem!

I think since you had the conscience to ask here, you probably will not buy it. I on the other hand, would have no personal issues buying used kegs off CL. Illegal? Technically yes. Do I care? Nope.

People keep giving me kegs. It's to the point where I'm designing a smoker made from 3 sankes.

I do need a 7.5 gallon for the fire box, though.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll probably just get it. I've noticed some other threads here like "polishing your keg" and they are all busch, molson or others. If I don't get it someone else will and I'm sure this keg will never make it back to Anheuser Busch no matter what. I'll make good use of it and Anheuser Busch can have the deposit and write off on their taxes.
