10 gallon cooler capacity question.

I'm about to buy a cooler for my mash tun. I want to use a 10gal round cooler but I'm not sure the capacity is large enough for making big beers like Barley wines and the like. Any help would be appreciated.

for a 5 gallon batch you should be fine. a grain bill of 13 lbs fits with plenty of room in mine

sweet site!! very useful. you should be able to get 25 lbs of grain with 1.25 qts of water per pound. in a ten gallon cooler

maybe for big beers but you can easily make 10 gallon batches with 10gal cooler. its not like your putting 10 gal in at once

I have found that 26 pounds of grains is about the max I can Mash in my 10 gallon cooler effectively. I don't know what I would do with 10 gallons of Barley Wine laying around.

The 1.068 OG limit for 10 gal batches just didn't work for me, so I ended up increasing my MLT from 10 gal to 15 gal.
