Don't know if this has been covered here but the pic says it all, push out as much air as you can than stick any fast food straw into the bag and suck out as much air as you can. Works great, I dry my hops down to 20% of their original weight,

If you are using bags designed for vacuum sealing awesome. If not then the bag is just going to refill with oxygen and you will have a lot of worthless hops on your hands. Not trying to rain on your parade but there is good reason that people use vacuum seal bags.
