    Honestly, if it comes with everything that is pictured there (other than the picnic table, grass and fence :P), I think it is a pretty good deal. A SS pot can run around that much by itself.

    The first edition of How to Brew is available free online http://www.howtobrew.com/ . I personally don't secondary, so I would get a kit with out a secondary vessel. I would also drink 2 cases of microbew while waiting for your kit to arrive and for your beer to ferment instead of buying...

    Typically, with Fedex and UPS, if you leave a signed note on your door saying to leave the package, they will. At least, that is my experience.

    The airlock activity after you warmed it up might just have been CO2 coming out of solution.

    IIRC, I think he uses Captain Morgan or some other cheap brown rum. If I remember the post, it was so he could see it when the fermentors are in some white container thing.

    I don't know about you, I have about 20 gallons in bottles right now. No way am I going to fit that in my fridge with food.

    At this point, there is really only one way to find out what it is going to taste like. Let it ferment and bottle as usual. If it is too hoppy, I've heard that can decrease with time in the bottle, but I've never had a batch of homebrew stay around long enough for that to happen. I...
