How can I filter my beer when I bottle it?

This guy will filter your beer without kegging equipment. I wouldn't call it "inexpensive". Afterward, add yeast back at about 1.5 million cells/ml with the priming sugar. Ahhhh, truly bright bottle conditioned beer. A joy to behold.

    Brewing in Hot Climates

I live in Arkansas, and there is no way I'm brewing past May. I have all the amenities, 2 step in coolers, a temp controlled freezer etc. The cost of operating stuff is far more than the beer is worth. What's more in the humid summer comes swarms of baddies, molds, airborne bacterias, etc. I...

I think I mashed too long

Just guessing here, but to employ a protein rest, I assume you used pilsner malt in the recipe. An hour long protein rest will affect the quality of the beers head. But, for all of that, I am inclined to believe the advice the above posters have said and just rock with it. I say that because dry...

    Converting BCM Drinkers

I realize you are excited about brewing and all. But if they prefer BMC style beer, perhaps it would be best to brew for you and your wife until you gain enough experience and equipment to properly brew a BMC stye lager beer. On these forums, 'BMC' is used in a very snobbish, derogatory...

    Kit beer help.

Well, sir, first off, did they not provide you with instructions with your kit? It appears to be an extract kit from the photos you posted. From my experience (vastly outdated for extract brewing), the first two photos may be combined in the requied amount of water and brought to a boil for 60...

    to bottle or ditch?

Bumm not, new brewer friend. The responders above have given you some good advice. Your beer is very young, and unless it has some really extraterestrial ropy green guts growing in it, then it'a a good bet to bottle on time. You very well could be pleasantly surprised after appropriate...

First brew, first question, yeast related

Your wife was right and your LHS advice was right, and the guys saying 2 tubes are right. You plainly said this is your first beer. You will want a sucessful, good tastiing brew as a result for you efforts, also to impress your wife. Almost all EXPERIENCED brewers make yeast starters, but a...

    question on conversion

A few years ago my Bro-in-law asked me to make up a 100% Wal-mart Deer corn beer for his hunting camp. Well i tried doing the malt thing, but for me, it was a failure. Next came a search for enzymes and the outcome worked and they wound up with something somewhat worse than PBR. Very pale and...
