Two questions re: all-in-one systems like robobrew/digimash, etc

My jaded Stainless Hydra also just fits in the Robobrew, I am thinking it was minimal time to cool with that, 10 minutes or so? It was way overkill and awesome to chill that quickly.

Opinions wanted on brewing system choice

If I were doing it again, I would probably go with the big Brewzilla, I now have a lot of money and time tied into building a system, and the brewzilla would do everything I built mine to do just by pulling it out of a box. But, I have a pretty system that is pretty much exactly what I want now

Two questions re: all-in-one systems like robobrew/digimash, etc

I used the malt gems for my last 2 pilsners, I want more, but I’ll wait for another sale.

Two questions re: all-in-one systems like robobrew/digimash, etc

My robobrew is just fine, I tend to get the flow right some in not going down the overflow, that’s just a good way to get grains and gunk under the tube. I use my SS jaded hydra in the robobrew.

I never thought of that, I may try that for my next Stout brew, I could do 15 gallons! Thanks!

    2 Vessel Electric Brewing

I am 2 vessel, I was going to do K rims, but decided not to after having tried it once. I now have a rims tube, which makes life easier for me.

I have an IPB-16S and it’s worked well.

    Troubleshooting

I will be switching the mypid PID to an EZboil soon, it's not ideal, I have to keep an eye on it constantly and it's a PITA

    120V RIMS

My brewhardware rims tube is on the way as well, replacing my DIY tube. I also use the InkBird IPB-16S

    New way for electric brewing?

Considering that the resistive element is isolated from the liquid, it’s very unlike throwing a toaster in the bathtub. The only thing that ever sticks to my boil element is some proteins. The element immersed in the medium to be heated is the most efficient means to transfer heat. In this case...

Brewzilla v3.1.1 PID mod - worth it?

Sounds like a waste of time to me. My robobrew works just fine.

    To EZboil or not

I’ll be replacing the Mypin in my controller with an ezboil very soon. Controlling the boil is nearly impossible and I have to monitor it the whole time.

    240v plug help

You have L14-30R (receptacal), you just need an L14-30P(plug) to go in it.

Ever seen an electric mash tun?

I really liked my biab system I built for brewing demos, I’ve been using it for my regular rotation beers a bit.

Robobrew Question - what's the center pipe for?

That’s what it’s for. And if you want any kind of efficiency, you need to recirculate. I try to keep my flow rate low enough that I don’t get any wort down the overflow anyway, but that’s how you get husks in your boil.

    Robobrew regrets?

I set my mash temp as I’m milling grain, it’s always at temp by the time I’ve ready to mash in. I set it to boil temp as I’m sparging , typically by the time sparging is over, I’m boiling or darn near. I have a brewhardware.com heat stick and I use that to help heat as needed. I put a 1650 watt...

    RIMS rocket dark wort

I've been using the viking malt for months, and had dark wort for the first time on sunday with a cream ale recipe, brewed with a 1650 watt element under the bag. This was my first run in this BIAB kettle, my first BIAB, and my first 10 gallon batch of this recipe, but it was not my first batch...

To those who have added an all-in-one as a *second* brew system...

I have a burner, and it has not been touched since I got my robobrew in August of last year. 2-3 batches a month go through it, the consistency is wonderful. I definitely can’t complain!

    Robobrew regrets?

I've been using mine way too often, and loving it. The only regret I have is that the 65L wasn't out when I bought it. Instead I'm building my own along the lines of the robobrew with a 15G and a 20G Spike kettle
