    AHA - American Homebrewers Association

Perfectly put. Here in NZ we have SOBaA, it is much like the "craft beer association in the US. They do minimal for the homebrewingcommunity, and more for the craft beer and brewing community (although many commercial brewers, bars etc have mentioned that they're generally pretty uselss. but...

    AHA - American Homebrewers Association

Wow, sounds like they got things sorted. The app sounds really good, and clever. So it might be worth investing sometime into stuff like that down the track. I see they have a good sized team to keep up to date on stuff too. Is there anything els,e i should be thinking about on this?

    AHA - American Homebrewers Association

Thanks Max, A really good balanced review. The liquor licensing laws are relatively liberal here, which is great, so at least i can discount that off a big list of things to do. This is a really good point, something I should look into a bit more probably. What kind of discounts etc and...

    AHA - American Homebrewers Association

Hi Team, I live in New Zealand. We have a big number of homebrewers in New Zealand. However, we have no "over-arching" national homebrew entity as such. SOBA is our current closest, which is the society of Beer Advocates, they generally operate with a commercial intent (i.e. they have little...

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

Such a good yeast. Hot Tip for E-IPA people. Add 10g (0.35oz) of chinook to the dryhop, so a really subtle pine finish and another layer.

Tips on brewing a New England IPA

Personally, I only dryhop once. that more for time and lazyness than trying to acheive anything. i personally am not sold on bio transformation and double dryhopping. to me the biotransformation only adds to haze, rather than hop flavor/aroma but each to their own, it seems to be...

    Trip to Belgium!!

When in Bruges hit up De Halve Maan. They do Brewery Tours and you get a complimentary glass of their famous Zot. Fantastic Beer. You go through with an entertaining flemish woman with a dry sense of humour. brussel cantillon is a must. FYI it always looks closed.

Sanitizing and adding blueberries to secondary fermenter

if i buy frozen from the store this is all i do. while not sanitary, its generally cleaned and in good shape. the alcohol should kill the majority of bugs anyway. if its frssh, i tend to use a camopden tablet once its ready to rack.

Sanitizing and adding blueberries to secondary fermenter

i wqould even suggest in most cases sanitation of fruit is not really required (unless using things like peaches with fuzzy skin etc.) if you buy pre-frozen from the store, they dont need sanitation. buying fresh and freezing is a good way to help leach flavor out, easily enough to carry out...
