Kegging saves time. AG saves money. It depends which you have more of, time or money. The price of corneys is constantly going up. When I first started kegging a 5 gallon ball lock was $20 at the LHBS. Now they're $60-65. The price of grains has only gone up slightly over that same time...

I just wanted to update this thread today... Saturday night I emailed the brewery, asking several different beer geek questions, hoping to get the beer as close as possible (brewing it Wednesday) This morning, I got the following e-mail from Tallgrass' Head Brewer: Hi Michael, Congratulations...

10 gallons nut brown, 5 gallons pecan pie beer, 4 gallons raspberry hard lemonade, 10 gallons christmas cider, 5 gallons sour biere de garde. And making 7.5 gallons of RIS tomorrow!

I just found out that I won a clone recipe kit from Tallgrass Brewery and Norther Brewer from their Facebook contest! I never really win anything, so to win BEER makes it even better! Thanks to these two great companies for fueling the homebrewing fire! :mug:

I've brewed it a couple times, and it comes close-ish, but it's not gonna be mistaken for the real McCoy. I subbed American Ale II for the Fat Tire yeast. Also, the 2nd time around I upped the dry hops to 1.25oz Cascade, .5oz Simcoe, and 1oz Citra. All in all a very good IPA, but it's not Ranger.

exactly, where in your house does it get >120*F?? I wouldn't smoke next to one, or leave it next to your propane stand while your brewing, but you'll be fine.

I have a 50# o2 cylinder. Just keep it in the basement, where I do my brewing. Meh, what's the worst that could happen?!
