Help finding potable hot water garden hose

Yes, I know PVC isn't used for hot. But I'm not going to be drinking the hot, only the cold.

Help finding potable hot water garden hose

Isn't the water in millions of houses flowing through PVC pipes?

Help finding potable hot water garden hose

The hose I linked was USDA, FDA, NSF, and 3-A dairy and food certified. I would not be worried about bad chemicals. Why wouldn't it last? It's rated to 150F, at least 10F over residential hot water, and hopefully something like 20-30F higher. Reinforced silicone is stupid expensive. I'm...

Help finding potable hot water garden hose

I'm guessing you don't run any hot through it? That was the challenging thing about this hose.

Help finding potable hot water garden hose

Old thread, but I've been looking for the same. Want to use the same hose for brewing liqour and hot-water cleaning. Just connect to either cold or hot pipes in the wall. I think the best choice is going to be: http://www.mcmaster.com/#52375k34/=tc4mq4 It's rated to 150F, 200PSI, and is FDA...

    SS autosiphon... any interest??

Pretty sweet. You make it yourself? Total cost? And why would fermented beer need to be handled gently? Other than oxygen exposure?

Buying Guide for a pH meter

I ended up buying this meter and it's great. It is definitely 2-point calibration, and what I think they mean by 1-keyboard is that you only have to push 1 button. It's automatic after that. Anyway, I would recommend it for sure.

Buying Guide for a pH meter

Anybody have any experience with this Omega meter? $95 gets you a great meter (according to specs of course) and it includes a carrying case and calibration solutions. It also has a higher max temp on ATC than other meters, despite Kai's words of wisdom on ATC...

    Brewster from Brewolution

Looks pretty nifty. All those hose connections would be better served being stainless though.

    Boil Kettle false bottom

I've got no problem backflushing the plate chiller. Just don't want it to clog while chilling.

    Boil Kettle false bottom

So it sounds like the answer is yes, a false bottom will filter pellet hops. I'm guessing a reasonable amount still gets through? Would a plate chiller clog, or do you think the false bottom is adequate?

    Boil Kettle false bottom

Do you know which false bottom he used? Wondering what the hole diameter is.

    Boil Kettle false bottom

I do not currently, but I am considering it. Additionally, I like to keep hops out of the fermenter regardless, as do most brewers.

    Boil Kettle false bottom

    Anybody?

    Boil Kettle false bottom

I'm going to be migrating my vessels slowly over to bottom drain keggles soon and was wondering about the benefits of a false bottom in the boil kettle. What effectiveness would it have filtering out hops? Any other reason to have one?

No fan in mine. Use to have one but it died and I never replaced it. Still making great beer...

    Definitive CIP pump thread

Interesting. Just took a look at that pump and it is much lower volume than the one I linked. 0.67gpm at 40psi. The one I linked is 3gpm at 60psi. Regardless, I'd rather use a submersible 110V pump than that one anyway, I'm just wary because none of them are rated up to the high pressure...

    Definitive CIP pump thread

Ah. It's 3 gpm at 60psi though. Isn't the high pressure more important to spin these balls up and get a strong jet?

    Definitive CIP pump thread

Haha. It doesn't have to, I was just trying to give a little background on how pumps work. Really, you just need to check the specs of a pump and match them up with the specs of your spray ball. Most other spray balls besides BH list a flow rate AND a pressure. Higher the pressure you give it...
