Yet more evidence that commercial brewers do not mash at 5.2 to 5.6 pH ...

Just for the record I am not a chemist... but if temperature is ignored entirely the pH measurement is not accurate. pH is a touchy thing to measure, forget litmus paper and titration. A good meter and temp. correction....

actually it's not way dry... The pear cider was a Mangrove Jack's Kit that had some kind of sweetener in a plastic packet you put in after fermentation. I had made this two years ago using fresh pears. Truthfully I think if I use the kit again I'll leave the sweetener out.

Hey there... me again. I have heard through the grape vine that the Amber Lantern in Warsaw will be brewing soon. I also heard that the is a growing interest in a club of sorts, I think I'm gonna check that out because it is so close to home.

I have thought about a local club. However, my employment precludes my being a reliable or productive part of something like that. You mentioned the main st. winery? Would that be the place on main in arcade near the a&a rr?

Greetings from the Warsaw/Wyoming area... if you liked Angottis in Batavia you should go see their store in Rochester. It is HUGE...AH Been brewing you own for I dunno three or four years now, what a great hobby. I believe the Hawley that raises the malt is a brother of the assemblyman.
