    Oops?!?!

Lol. I bet Lisle has changed! I've only been out here about 3 years now though, so I couldn't tell you the difference. I sure do love it here though! As for the IPA... I'm not much of an IPA drinker! I'm making it for my buddy's grad school graduation party (say that 3 times fast!), so it's...

    Oops?!?!

Thanks everyone! I feel much better about the IPA now. As for the wheat though, will the Magnum and Glacier hops be ok there?

    Oops?!?!

So I made a boo-boo. I mixed up my wheat and IPA recipes and used the Magnum and Glacier hops intended for my IPA in my wheat. From what I've read, this should actually be better than the Amarillo hops I was going to put in there. Opinions on this? Also, is it ok to use the Amarillo hops in...

    Spent Grain?!

OK! Here's what I ended up doing... 3 3/4 C Bread flour 1/2 C Dried, ground spent grain (ran it through my coffee grinder after ample time in the oven) 1 Yeast Packet 1/4 tsp Salt 1 1/2 C Warm water (But my dough was dry, I think I was closer to 2C) A sprinkle of sugar just for kicks Mixed all...

    Spent Grain?!

    Spent Grain?!

Yeah... Learned that one the hard way. Three days on the counter... No good! Last batch was in the oven a few hours last night drying and I'll finish them tonight!

    Spent Grain?!

I thought about the dog treats but we feed out dogs grain free food so they probably shouldn't get it in treats either. I also laughed at the dog fart post.. laughed pretty hard actually! Thanks for all of the ideas... and if anyone else has any... Keep them coming!!

    Boiling pot ?

We'd been using a smaller aluminum pot, just upgraded to an 80 quart aluminum pot. Ridiculously large? Maybe. Hilariously useful? Definitely.

    Spent Grain?!

We've been doing all grain for a few weeks now (yaaayyy!) and we're running into a welcomed issue.. SO MUCH spent grain! SO! My question is... What do you do with your spent grain?? Recipes welcome:) I'm looking more for recipes that I can use with dried, ground grain (through the...

What do med students do in their spare time?

But really, to get back to the original point of the post... If anyone has any other random tips for me to look into along the way, they'd be greatly appreciated. Anything about anything. My mind is ready to be molded. Thanks!!

What do med students do in their spare time?

Third year baby! No more of those long library hours (until each shelf and then Step 2 come around!). So we have some spare time to do things normal people do! Hooray!

What do med students do in their spare time?

Thanks guys! I'm sure there's a long road ahead on this learning curve of beer, but we'll get there. And FYI: I slept 12 hours yesterday and 9.5 today. And took 2 naps yesterday. So yeah... med students sleep a LOT in their time off. Hahaha!

What do med students do in their spare time?

Learn how to brew beer. Total NOOB here. Any general tips? We just did 3 (yes 3!) brews in the last week, just following directions. I'd love to be able to just buy our own stuff and not have to do this whole boxed thing. Let me know what you guys think about the beginning steps and progressing...
