New England IPA h'Wheaty Moo Moo - a New England Double Wheat Milk IPA

**EDIT** I mistakenly marked this as an AG recipe, and don't know how to change it, not sure if one of the mods can help me out. This is obviously an extract brew. Brewed this back in May and it turned out ridiculously good. I was going for a big, smooth, silky, crisp, citrusy New England...

    Draft line diameter

Yeah, that's right on par with what I've read other places. Will I be able to fit 3/16" tubing on the current swivel nut and the part that connects to the back of the faucet?

    Draft line diameter

I need to replace my draft line, as the one I have now is way too short. I cut the barbed swivel nut off the end so I could measure the inside diameter to see what size line I need to buy. When I measure the inside diameter (inside wall to inside wall) of the hose, it's 1/4", however when I...

    Fermenter down to 54*

I've got a 5 gallon batch of an IPA that was fermenting for about 4.5 days at about 68* average. I have it in a minifridge, but i dont have a temp controller so I have just been plugging it in and unplugging a few times a day to keep it between 65 and 70*. last night i forgot to unplug the...

Belgian Tripel Belgian Trippel (2006 World Beer Cup Gold Medal: Dragonmead Final Absolution clone)

No worries. I think it was originally an AG recipe and then later converted.

Belgian Tripel Belgian Trippel (2006 World Beer Cup Gold Medal: Dragonmead Final Absolution clone)

He listed the extract recipe towards the bottom of the original post, so I was just going to go off of that. Extract: 3 x 3.3lbs Pilsner Light malt extract LME 1 x 1lbs Amber DME 1 x 1.5lbs Belgian Candy 12.4 total pounds of fermentables Hops: (IBU came out at 23 but you can range...

Belgian Tripel Belgian Trippel (2006 World Beer Cup Gold Medal: Dragonmead Final Absolution clone)

Sorry if this has been mentioned in the other 69 pages, but can someone quickly lay out when to add the malts? Should I add them all at once and bring to a boil or do they go in at different times? I'm new to brewing, I've done about 8 or 9 batches from kits with specific instructions, and...

How long is too long in a secondary for a wheat beer?

yeah, that's what I think I'll do. I was just planning on taking a sterilized carboy brush and slowly mixing up the yeast on the bottom of the carboy a little. Very slowly so I don't aerate the beer at all.

How long is too long in a secondary for a wheat beer?

How long is too long in a secondary for a wheat beer?

I know this topic is a little old, but thought I'd resurrect it. I'm brewing the Lemon Coriander Weiss kit from Midwest brew. It was in the primary for 2.5 weeks, and has been in the secondary for about 2. I noticed the yeast settling to the bottom. Should I stir that up a little bit and get...

    Midwest Supplies Winter Ale question

I've had Midwest Supplies Winter Ale in the primary for about 2.5 weeks. Kit instructions said secondary was optional, but just wanted to see if A.) anyone here has brewed this kit, and B.) did you use a secondary and how long did you have it in the primary/secondary before bottling? In 2...

    Revolution Brewing (Chicago) Pablo Picasso

Can't help you with the recipe, but Revolution is awesome. I've go there all the time. They just recently started to get a distribution going. My girlfriends father is actually one of the investors to try and get them to distribute to stores. Because he's an investor, they get 1/2 off their...

Froth on top of secondary? Normal?

Here's a pic of batch in question. I think it's fine...just wanted a second opinion.

Froth on top of secondary? Normal?

Yeah that's what I was thinking I did. Oh well..first bew, as long as it's drinkable I'll take it as a success haha.

Froth on top of secondary? Normal?

I had the same SG of 1.012 for 3 consecutive days before I racked it so I thought it was alright. It had a thick layer of krausen really quick and that all went away so i started taking hydrometer readings and they were all consistent. Ill guess ill just wait longer next time. Thanks

Froth on top of secondary? Normal?

I'm brewing an amber ale...it's my first brew. Had it in the primary for a week, then transferred it to the secondary (glass carboy). After a few days i started to see a few bubbles form. Very small...looked like CO2 bubbles maybe. It's been in the secondary for about 10 days and how there...

    Hydrometers Suck

so......the hydrometer sucks because you dropped it? That's like Adam Dunn blaming the ball for not getting hit....

    quick question about priming sugar

I'm a first time brewer, just racked from the primary to a secondary and everything seems to be going well. I've found pretty much every answer to my questions on this site via the search function, except one. So you add the priming sugar to the beer, then bottle it and then wait 2-3 weeks...
