I went with this one: (Plenty of torque)

It has a 6mm shaft coming out and the whirly arm has a 5mm shaft. I used this to mate:

Cant figure out how to imbed video^^
Whirlypop, DC Geared motor (56rpm @ 12v), 12v Battery, 6mm to 5mm coupler.
Set heat, add beans, plug in, come back 12 minutes later and dump. So nice to have it automated. Stirred for 2 batches before coming up with this. $35 :)
I plan on this exact setup and have almost everything to make it work. Except the coil. You need to use Stainless cause fermented beer and copper is a no no. Something about PH? Cant remember right now.
Problem for me was getting a SS Coil to fit inside my kettle fermenter (which is 14"...

add a ball valve and bazooka tube and you're done...

Empty Tank = Co2 release out of solution = Air in beer lines = foamy pour.
It happened to me before when I had a leaky regulator and couldn't keep constant pressure in the keg. I bet the pours you do tomorrow will be OK if you are now supplying the constant pressure. no more co2 release.
WHAT if you inflated the balloon with co2 and stuck it over the top of the carboy or on the end of the blowoff tube... Wouldn't need to have co2 hooked up at all during crashing. the balloon would just shrink... way simpler. :rockin:
Yes, drop the Crystal to .5lb or less, or just use something else, like Carapils or a touch of Munich... Just what I'd do. I cant stand the darker crystal in an IPA. Just conflicts with the fruity hops... This is just my opinion though. YMMV
I would do .5oz Chinook @ 60
3oz Cascade @ 5
1.5oz Citra and Cascade @ 0 - HopStand 20-30min @ 165º
1.5oz Citra and Cascade DRYHOP 5 days.
Lots of hop flavor - not so bitter...
Cheers! :mug:
This^ There are beers easier to find and just as good or better. I had Pliney and followed it up with a RuinTen, the stone was actually better IMO.
Still, If I saw a pliney on the shelf, I'd grab another... :rockin:
Fresh Maharaja FTW~!!!
You'll be fine. Think about it this way, you added a 1gallon starter. They are healthy as can be.
Watch your temps! its probably going to go gangbustsers and could get warm from the ferment!
