    Filtering hops and trub before fermenting

    Is it true that the beer will taste grassy or who knows what if you do not filter your wort at the end of the boil? Please reply to this only if you have personal experience with not filtering hops and you beer turned good/bad.

    what do I need to add an extra keg?

    I'm buying a 2 kegs system. Would like to add a keg to make it 3 kegs total. It has a dual double gauge regulator so I can carbonate and dispense at the same time. What parts do I need to add the extra keg?

    I'm trying to figure out what to get for a fermentation chamber. Does anybody use this one as a fermentation chamber? Does it fit 6.5 gal glass carboy? Did you have to cut anything in it?

    Good mini fridge for a fermentation

    What are a good current mini fridges for fitting a 6.5 gal carboy? I know there are lots of threads about it, but a lot of the stuff is outdated, like the sanyo mini fridge that is out of production.

    Barley Crusher

    I just got my Barley Crusher and milled a pound with the original setting. Here's the picture of the grains. Is it too fine? Or is it ok? I always bought grains milled before and they seemed crushed coarser, efficiency sucked though.

    Mashout

    Besides getting a little more wort by increasing the mash temperature to around 165*, is there any other benefit to do that? I've read that people do it to stop enzyme activity. What's the point of it?

    yeast viability

    I got a WLP 001 vial with a best before date Nov-18-2012. From what I find in threads here, yeast is good for 6 months. Does that mean that my yeast was made on May 18th? I'm trying to figure out the starter size I need to make. Brewing on Saturday :rockin:

    lagering a belgian dubbel after bottling

    I'm thinking about brewing a belgian dubbel. Looking at Zainasheff's BCS recipe. In it it says to lager at 45-50* for a month after bottling. What is the purpose of it? Can I just skip it and keep the bottles at room temperature? Not having the fridge space...

    48 qt mash tun

    48 qt cooler with a copper manifold. Needs a valve. Needs something heavy on top when mashing as it leaks a little steam from the back corners and you lose a few degrees when mashing.
