I too tend to have extra wort...my total water volume is around 16.8 Gallons but I do hit my numbers right on target. I use the Single Infusion Mash profiles and this hardware profile:

Question for the Kamado ceramic owners

I have a Large BGE and I also still use my other grill. Some foods you just don't want that charcoal flavor on....(well not everyone thinks that way) I love the BGE though!

It is recommended by many BIABer's to mash for 90 minutes with no adverse affects such as tannins.

It would be an interesting test. I know that most BIAB info I have read suggests a 90 minute mash for better efficiency.

It has been working great for me. Pretty good efficiency...between 75 and 80%. Water volumes have been right on target.

If you let the grain bed settle for 10 minutes before recirculating, no husks get through to the BK. Nice and clear.

I just use the single infusion profiles. Then review the total water needed and split it by transferring the water needed to the MT as 1.25 QRT per pound of grain.

First run on my 10gallon electric BE. Thanks for the video Danam404. I hit 76% on the first try and made no mistakes ;) The video was a good primer and the water chemistry is a must. Very low calcium in the water here.

The only hose that needs to be clean/Starsan'd is after the Chiller. If you use the mash hose to go from the chiller to the fermentor all you need to do is pasteurize the hose and chiller by recirculating the wort from the BK through the hoses and chiller back into the BK for 5-10 minutes...

Well from my understanding is you put half the total water in the MT and the other half in the BK so you would never have the full volume in the MT at any given time so the MT would not need to be 9.5 gallons.

Hopefully one of the other BrewEasy pros will chime in since mine is only on order :ban: but before I did 3 vessel brewing, I was a BIAB'er. The BIAB mash profile makes the most sense to me since you are using a full volume of water.

Pulled the trigger on the 10 gallon one except I am going to use an ebrewsupply.com controller and Camco element instead of the Boilcoil and Tower of power/control module.
