Who has made bourbon or whiskey?

I am surprised that more people haven't whether or not you want to admit it... o_O I am questioning the effective use of a MLT and Boil kettle to do a 80 corn, 12 6 row, 8 rye run to see what you get.... I would like to try and pot distill water first. I have a bunch of equipment prior to...

    Faucet spout question

This may seem ridiculous, but I have a sink faucet that has a 12" spout - bottom line is that it comes out too far into the sink. My sink comes out about 18", so the spout is near the edge when it sprays (2-3" lip on my sink). I am looking for a 6" spout, but I search and can't just really find...

    Finally new brewery complete

Long story short, I have been brewing going on 5-6 years. Originally I made one extract beer and decided I wanted to brew all grain. I can't tell you how much there is to read on brewing - it's crazy. In the process of building a new home, I decided to have a dedicated space for this, instead...

    Which software does cost analysis?

Does BrewersFriend do this? If I put in an inventory item, and the cost, will it give me the cost of the whole brew, bottles or kegs? If not, does any other software do this?

    SS Brewtech Brewmaster Chronical

I recently bought a SS Brewtech Brewmaster 1/2 bbl Chronical. I opted for the FTS temp control as well. I communicated back and forth with Ben and everything went smoothly. This thing looks great. Everything came as promised and Ben was helpful with all of my questions and answered...

    SS Brewtech Brewmaster

Has anyone ordered the brewmaster edition? Thoughts? I am considering 1/2 bbl and I would like to have it jacketed w/ temp control, but I am back and forth between the brewmaster edition and the Chronical. All in, its $965 for the Chronical vs. $1,059 for the Brewmaster. I am mostly...

    "portable" kegging option

I've been asked to brew some beer for some parties coming up this year once again. In years past, I would lug the keg with plus my CO2 tank. I am thinking of grabbing a 2.5 gal keg to take to some smaller parties but I am curious as to what everyone is using as a CO2 option. I know the...

    2016 Rhizome time

It's just about that time to think about what to do/order/plant in 2016. Unfortunately, I have to start over with growing my hops as we moved to a new home. New home good, new hops bad. That being said, what is everyone going to be getting to grow for 2016? Me thinks that Centennial...

    Fast Kitchen Hood

Has anyone ever used or purchased from www.fastkitchenhood.com? They advertised on Craigslist that they will make stainless brewery hoods with gutters and hanging brackets all included, various lengths made to order. Just wanted to see if anyone can vouch for their quality. Thanks.

Converting a chest freezer just to a fridge, not a keezer or kegerator

Any suggestions on this? I am going to run cooled tap lines from a converted freezer chest (without taps) to my upstairs tower. Anyone have links or suggestions on this? I couldn't find what I was looking for.... Thanks.

    Fermentation by-products

In a recent beer competition, I submitted a Porter, than scored in the mid 30s, which I am happy about. The judges did note some fermentation by-products however. My thought process is that this could be cleared up by a longer fermentation, correct? I had a 14 day primary fermentation...

Thinking about St. Patricks Day.... already

So I am working on what beer I can brew for St. Patricks Day 2012. We're only 3 months out! :drunk: All grainers: What are you thinking of brewing? I'm on the fence and really don't know.....
