    Do you have a mustache?

had the goatee thing since 92 after ex trimmed off the three years' worth of tour beard........(kinda been inspired to keep it that way after she locked up the shop and let me know how much _she_ liked it ;) ) always keep the facial hair, as without it - I feel like potential prey for the gay...

Oh yeah, SWMBO's birthday is the 18th, so gotta figure something to augment the pleasure of spending the weekend with my folks and one of my kids ;)

What are you doing for St. Patty's Day?

I'll be in the middle of a 1000 mile weekend drive to get the daughter from Knoxville, TN for Spring Break with Dad at the beach. Meeting the folks on the way back for a day at the Asheboro Zoo - hopefully, me, Dad, and SWMBO (O'Connell, McDermott, and K'enna clans here) will find a place to...

    Bike Messengers on Crack

When I first moved to DC area in the 80s, the first group I hooked up with was the punks at Dupont Circle (drinking age was grandfathered for us at 18 in the District, so it was natural gravitating area)......I watched these guys bounce off cars in intersections.......pretty good pay if you can...

    I'm diggin this forum

I, too, have learned a lot from lurking - and just as much by mindlessly blabbing (not so much about brewing, just about other members' *blab* thresholds :drunk: ). I too, love the smell and taste of my green beers, but SWMBO has made it clear that I AM NOT to drink the whole tube of...

PUI - I am now an EAC!

OK, I managed to stumble across the acronym thread and finally found the reference......wow...my eyes will never be the same, after being exposed to such hostility.....hehehe... My dad was a lifelong sailor - I thought I had heard 'em all ;)

Orfy's bud thread made me think.....

I'll admit I do bash AB quite frequently, but it's not because of their beer - it's there predatory practices that bug me..... When Old Dominion Brewery was becoming popular in the NOVA area - King Wholesalers was happily carrying their products, and Dominion benefitted from the distribution...

    Dave Barry 25 Things

Dave Barry for President!!!! :ban: hehehe Let the Cynics Unite! I can remember his column being the only thing I looked forward to reading in the Washington Post each week.... There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness.' -- Dave Barry, "25 Things I Have Learned in...

    Holy crap.....

Had to go to Atlanta last summer for a tech conference, and managed to hook up with an old high school buddy that I grew up with in VA Beach - we hadn't seen each other in 15 years....... It was just like old times...burned a big ol' fattie on the way back from the airport, and then spent the...

    Kegging beer question...

I have to agree with Cheesefood on this one...I usually prime all my beer when I rack to the keg, and sometimes I get impatient after only a week...chilling and force carbing at this point seems to lend a metallic taste to the beer - and the head retention and appearance are vastly different...

    Considering Full Boils, any benifits?

oh ****, two threads..... IMO...I find that I get significantly better protein break from full boils...rolling boils that still boil over a 10 gallon pot with 6.5 gallons of wort - but my beers have been noticeably clearer....my hop utilization has been higher also, but I knew to account for...

    Kegging beer question...

I've alway been led to believe that more CO2 was absorbed at lower temps, so i always chill my beer first (which also should settle out all the yeasty stuff), and then force carb..... since I've been doing this, my beers have always been much clearer. YMMV Chris(aka Hippiefreak)...
