    What are you drinking now?

I'm enjoying my Dolemite Black IPA, bittered with Magnum, late additions of Centennial, a d a Glacier/Nugget dry hop. I must say, this turned out pretty tasty. I will brew this again.

American Pale Ale Cascades / Orange Pale Ale

I am brewing this again tomorrow. I am making a few slight changes this time, though. Instead of 9 pounds of maris otter, I am going to use 8 pounds of two row and 1 pound of belgian biscuit malt. I am dropping the carmel malt and adding an extra pound of vienna. How does this sound?

My first attempt at a belgian style beer...

I recently brewed a Belgian dubbel. I don't drink a lot of that style of beer but, it was something I wanted to do and I think it turned out pretty good. I took some with to a local mug club and everybody seemed to like it. I have received many compliments. Here is the recipe I threw...

British Brown Ale Nut Brown AG

I brewed a batch of this last May and it turned out pretty good so, I brewed another batch of it last week. Last time I used Nottingham. This time I used Wyeast 1028 London Ale yeast. Two more weeks until I tap it...

I shop at Brew and Grow in Bolingbrook, also. They have a very knowledgeable staff. I have never had a bad experience there.

I have never brewed any extract brews. I really couldn't push you in the right direction on that one. Sorry...good luck in all that you brew!

    Naperville, Illinois

I have only been brewing a little over a year and a half. I started with all-grain and began kegging after just a few batches. I started brewing with a couple of friends but, after six months of that, I bought all of my own equipment with my tax return. I enjoy the control have doing it alone...

I live in Joliet..I just tapped a Magnum/Simcoe ipa, I have a Belgian Dubbel that will be ready next week, and I just brewed a nut brown ale today. Next two brew days will be another ipa and an orange/coriander pale.

American IPA Bee Cave Brewery IPA

I haven't tried that but, I have used Amarillos and it was amazing. It's all a matter of opinion and IMO, Amarillo>Citra.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I just got laid off on Friday so, my brew days will move to Tuesday. It is easier to do it during the week when the kids are at school. Plus, I can spend more time with them on the weekends when they are home. That being said, Tuesday I am brewing a nut brown ale.

    Dark Horse Amber clone?

Has anyone ever attempted this or seen a recipe? Thanks...

    What are you drinking now?

I'm drinking a Warrior Amarillo IPA. When I first kegged it, it had a funny taste. I have since drank 10 gallons of other beers while this one has sat in the fridge. Now it is extremely drinkable... very smooth!

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewing a Magnum/Simcoe IPA tomorrow morning. My first batch since november 15th. That is quite a while for me. Work and the holidays got in the way of my brew schedule. Now it's time to rebuild the pipeline!

American Porter Bee Cave Brewery Robust Porter

I just tapped a keg of this porter this week. It is delicious! It spent 24 days in primary and then sat in the keg at basement temp for another three weeks before moving to the fridge. It tastes ten times better than it did when o racked it. I wish I had this kind of patience with every brew.

    Good All Purpose Base Grain

I buy sacks of 2-row. I love Maris Otter but, it costs me about $30 more.

English Porter Black Pearl Porter (AG)

I think mine finished at 1.022. It's that lactose and malto dexteine.
