so its been a while since I've had the time to brew, unfortunately life and work usually get in the way of life! my question is how do you reset/adjust the temperature on the STC-1000? I have tries the search on here and the internet in general but have come up empty. TIA for any help you...

I have a POWER PAK PORTER for my second beer, been fermenting for three weeks now! going to bottle this weekend! and i just brewed another IRISH RED ALE yesterday! i think i will be good for a least a week! lol:tank::drunk:

I was finally able to drink my first home-brew tonight! It was awesome! i brewed an IRISH RED ALE for my first beer and drank a few tonight, let me tell you there is nothing that can compare with your own home-brewed beer giving you a good buzz!!!!!!!!:ban: :drunk::mug::drunk::ban:

REMEMBER not to squeeze the bag when you remove the grains, just let it drain on its own. This is only the second time Ive seen this, why would you not want to squeeze the grain bag after boiling? :confused:

lets try a different angle. I am finished brewing this batch of beer, i have my wert chiller running, and then i realize my wyeast smack pak is still in the fridge. do i smack it and pitch it or wait the three hours that is recommended after activation? either way my temps will be down to...

wyeast 1028, i understand about the temps, my question is do i leave my wert sitting out risking exposure until my smack pak fully swells? they recomend you let the yeast sit for three hours before you pitch, can i pitch before the three hours are up?

Do i wait the three hours for my yeast to activate, or can i smack it and pitch it? its been out and smacked for about 1 hour, but my wert is chilled to 100* now. thanks in advance!!:o:confused:

Thanks for the info, i love dark beers! I was not aware that they would take longer. that's okay, i am trying to get it where i will brew a batch of beer EVERY weekend! so once i get started i will have my dark beers continually! :rockin:

Not exactly, SWMBO had a list of honey-doo's so i did run out of time! This weekend though i am brewing my second batch< Its going to be a Power Pack Porter from Midwest! wish me luck!:mug:

Everything went without a hitch! Only took 3 hours for my first ever brew! I have an IRISH RED ALE In the ferment-er, Chilling between 63 to 67 degrees. :rockin: :mug: :rockin: now all i have to do is ................WAIT!

Thanks Amity, i am going to brew an Irish red ale in the morn whilst SWMBO is at church, then i need to run to the store before i brew my power pack porter! looks like i will have time for both brews to be done tomorrow! :mug:

Newbie here, just wondering how long it takes to brew an extract kit? I am planning on doing two different beers tomorrow, will I have time for any thing else?:rockin:
