Anyone brewed "Brewer's Best" Whisky Barrel Stout?

I did not. The beer turned out really well. However, I really don't taste the Whisky, so I guess you could add some. I left the chips in for 3 wks not 4, so maybe that would make a difference.

    2 secondary Fermenting questions

    1. I've seen people talk about siphoning to their bottling bucket, clean the primary, then siphon back to the primary (which is now the secondary). My question is.. is this done immediately? Do you literally go from primary, bottling bucket, back to the clean primary asap??? 2. if you choose...

    Primary vs Secondary Fermenting

Ristsigators, if you do use your bottling bucket and it says 2 weeks in secondary, do you leave it in there for a week and put it back in the primary for the 2nd week, so that when it's time to bottle you'll have the bottling bucket available? Thanks

    Primary vs Secondary Fermenting

So when the recipes say, ferment for 5-7 days then add to secondary for 2 weeks, you just leave it in the primary for those 2 weeks right?

    Primary vs Secondary Fermenting

My first batch of beer, I used only a Primary Fermenter. In the brew store that I go to, all their recipes use 2nd Fermenting. Can I continue to make good beer without using a 2nd Fermenter or is the quality that much better with it? Thanks

    All grain vs PM brewing

I am finishing up my first brew which is a Whisky Stout that I got from a Brewer's Best Kit. This was a PM. I got into brewing b/c it's fun and I would like to make "good"/not award winning beer. My question is... can I continue to make "good" beer and never move up to All Grain brewing...

Kits vs Fresh ingredients and All grain vs PM

I'm in the middle of making my first brew. It is a PM Whisky Stout from a Brewer's Best Kit. This is a new Recipe from them, therefore the ingredients are fresh. However, the local brew store told me to buy the ingredients fresh from them b/c the kits have old products. This makes since to...

siphon from Ferm bucket to Bottling bucket without Auto-Siphon

for those who use the water tech, does that water effect the beer that you are about to bottle when you are transferring from Ferm to Bottling bucket? If you put it in a separate container, how do you stop the flow once it starts, so you won't lose any beer? Hose clamp? If so, i guess you...
