    All Grain Shiner Bock Recipe

I'm a greenhorn and still do mini-mash batches. However, if there is a partial mash out there too that would be great. Being from Texas I'd love to take a stab at this.

    Wheat extract question...

I just did my Wit with the 40/60 wheat to barley and it has been my most popular with my friends. However, thats more because my other two brews have been IPAs and I have a lack of hop heads for friends. Works out more homebrew for me. What else are you looking to add to this? I added...

    Temp Step-down when Lagering, why?

I'm doing my first MaiBock as well. The reason I believe you drop the temp a degree or two everyday is so you dont shock the yeast and get bad off flavors due to straining the yeast. As for why to lager it helps to "bright" clear out the beer and helps the flavors mash together. Thats my...

    Yeast Starter Time

A 28 hour starter is better than no starter. My first brew I just used one smack-pack and I feel the yeast was strained way too much. It fermented ok but I did have a few off flavors...might as well blame me not using a starter. I just finished the same brew with a 2 day start and it made a...

    AHS Spring Maibock

I'm thinking of trying this one as well. How long did you all ferment and lager. Does 6 to 8 weeks sound right? This would be my first lager. I'm lucky that I have a beer fridge on my hands for fermenting in Texas.
