    Fermentation Chamber "Rotation & Temps"

I brew 90% Ales. But...of course, temps do vary greatly for the strains I like to use. I have a great fermentation chamber. It's a Delfield Milk Cooler (NLFAC Shelleymatic) It can hold four carboys. Because it's a milk cooler, it's not hard to get the carboys in and out. Here is my...

    Fermentation Room or Chambers?

Ok So I have this space 22'x13' that I am turning into my home brewery. Option A: I thought about making a 13'x6' Fermentation/Grain room. I could control the temp via a mini split or window AC with Coolbot. I do 95% Ales so I thought I could keep the room at 60F and call it good. I have a...

    Wastewater

Currently my brewing situation is a mess, I have stuff stored all around my house. My house is big, so I have to go here and there. I have enough space to make a brewery in my detached garage. I have water there, but I don't have any tie in to my septic tank. So my question is what to do with...

PicoBrew Zymatic vs BrewEasy vs Braumeister

I am so close to making a decision on my new brewing upgrades. Currently brew with two cooler’s and a 10 Gallon Brewpot. I built a brew stand that I like, but I’m tired of pumping the water up to the cooler and cleaning is not very easy as I don’t have a tub sink with easy access. I have...

    Sous Vide Sour Extract Mash/Process

Ok, odd thought and want some feedback. Let's say you took a wheat beer liquid extract. (65% 2-Row 35% Wheat) Northern Brewer Sells Some: Click Here You inoculate that with say 2-4oz of two row. Vacuum seal it in a chamber sealer. Put it in a water bath at 110 degrees F for 72 hours to...

    Vintners Harvest Cherry Puree

I have ordered two cans of Vintners Harvest Cherry Puree. My goal was to make a cherry porter. I have a basic porter recipe, and was going to add the cherry puree in secondary. Here are my questions to anyone that has used this product. 1. In a 5 Gallon Batch, one or two cans. (They...

    MoreBeer!'s Kettle Spider

I know that I could have built my own hop spider cheaper, but I saw that MoreBeer has a new product. I went ahead and ordered it, and will post my thoughts when I try it out. I like the Idea of holding on the bag with a 4" TC Clamp. http://morebeer.com/products/morebeer-kettle-spider.html

    Keg Not Carbing (Sanke)

Ok... Odd thing. I made the batch of Cider. Put it in the Keg and cranked up the pressure to 30psi. After 5 days... Nothing no bubbles at all. After a week no bubbles at all. Temp is at 35. I serves fine. Hmmm I can pull the pressure relief valve and CO2 is exhaled. So today I took a better...

Keg & Bottling (In one Kegerator)

Okay... I love kegging. I love the control and predictability and the fact that I really don't know how much I have been drinking until I hear the sad gurgling of an empty keg. That said... I would like the option of bottling. I use 5 Gallon Sankey kegs. (Not that it really matters I...
