    Lumpy Yeast

Just had the same issue using this same yeast for cider. Kinda reminds me of a cement mixer shot.

Bottling Question: Extended Brew time with Cooper's Irish Stout

My stout is very nice although I thought it would be under carbonated, it is not. Some bottles after a few weeks took on a licorice flavor. Now, I only have about 7 bottles left and no more licorice flavor - just good solid dry irish stout! Very happy with this.

    Coopers Irish Stout recomendation.

Amicus, Your addition of chocolate, chicory, and vanilla sounds AWESOME. Did you soak your nibs in vodka prior to addition or just straight in? Last week I tasted a Vanilla Java Porter which seems like it lines up with what you made and I had two and could have drank them all night...

    Coopers Irish Stout recomendation.

Aidan, I don't recommend anyone take my advice on something that I know so little about, however, I wish you the best! I think more so that I found websites to justify me not having to cut a carbonation drop in half in order to add 1.5 drops per bottle. All the best and I hope yours turns...

    Coopers Irish Stout recomendation.

I bottled mine 3 weeks ago in swingtops and it is fantastic. Very dry - decent head, good taste. Since I had used 16 oz swingtops, I only used 1 of the coopers carb drops instead of 2 for the normal 22 oz. I checked some websites before and found one post that stated stouts should not be too...

Bottling Question: Extended Brew time with Cooper's Irish Stout

BTW - since I was reading and writing on this post, I just did a quick sample of my stout. Wow! It is going to be nice. It starts dry and then is nice and soft on the palate. Very nice aftertaste that makes me feel like I am drinking a stout I ordered at a bar.

Bottling Question: Extended Brew time with Cooper's Irish Stout

I have this same coopers irish stout in my primary now - it has been 10 days. Since I am a newbie also, I want to ask why do I bother with a hydrometer reading if all of the wise advice is to leave in a primary for two weeks? If I have no activity in the airlock and the FG is where it is...

    Cooper kit questions

I did the same kit with the Australian pale ale (I beleive) and fermented 10 days - bottle conditioned for two weeks now. I have a problem with carbonation I think cause my location was too cold to bottle condition and carbonate. I moved the bottles to the top of the fridge and it seemed to...

    Coopers Irish Stout recomendation.

Hey Aidan, I had a former neighbor when I lived in France who moved back home to NZ. I hope you are not getting too much of the bad weather that Australia is getting. Anyhow, I took a Hydrometer reading today and a quick sample of the Irish Stout from Coopers (Brewmaster selection). I...
