    newbie from Nova Scotia

Welcome aboard. I've made a bunch of those boxed wort kits, and some extract recipes with steeped grain. No all grain yet. The FestaBrew are nice because they come with a more appropriate yeast than the BrewHouse sometimes do. I usually replace the supplied BrewHouse yeast. I even made a...

    New guy in Halifax

Welcome aboard. The first few batches that I made, I drank too quickly. They weren't all that good until a few months after bottling. So, I only got a few of them at their peak.

    Hi from Canada, eh!

I made a BrewHouse Cerveza kit, but used a lager yeast and fermented pretty cold, rather than the supplied yeast. It turned out pretty good, very clean, wife friendly. For limes, I like them sliced and added fresh :) I also prefer the Festa kits slightly. Especially for head retention.

Hi Jean-Francois, there is a mailing list for Montreal brewers at https://secure.neap.net/mailman/listinfo/montrealers I am only on the Ottawa list, so I am not sure how active it is, but members of the list were winning prizes at brewing contests recently.

Two large Mexican carboys going strong here. So that makes 12 for a total of... 705

    Hello from the UK!

You're welcome. I found there was a lot of terms in both beer and wine making, but the concepts behind them were usually simple. Ditto the American thing, UK gallons are bigger. If you want to try a non-beer brew, besides mead, there is always apfelwein or cider...

    Hello from Ireland

Welcome Peter. The Better Bottles are slightly smaller than the Mexican/Italian glass carboys. So if you are doing a true 23 liters, you don't have much space left over. I have been converting to Better Bottles. Even though the glass only weighs maybe 10 pounds and the liquid 40 pounds, a...

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

I made 23 liters in January. I assume we are using US gallons here. So that's about another 6. Total = 516
