    Roasted Chocolate Stout

1272 is a great yeast. Clean and clear. Probably going to go with it or the 1056. Seems the attenuation can be pretty low on the 1338 and I don't want it to end up too sweet.

    Falconer's Flight IPA Recipe Critque

I agree. I just tapped a FF IPA I brewed recently an it came out amazing! I used millennium to bitter. The FF hops are fantastic and I wouldn't want to take away from what they are being lost in the boil. Also, why the change to the crystal? I used 60 and I'm curious for when, because I...

    Spike Brewing Kettles

Mine came in recently. Had a few dings and about a three inch gouge in the wall. The welding is smooth on the outside but the inside not so much. Chunks of solder coming through from the outside weld. Havent had a chance to use it yet to check for leaks but I'll try to do so and post some pics...

When I got the grain bill, all the grains were together. I'm still working on technique to maintain good mash temps. This is only my second all-grain batch. I really appreciate all the input, every opinion helps me to learn more. Mash temps stayed around 148-150 and ended up with 1.062. Not...

Yep, it's a 2.5 gallon batch. I really appreciate everybody's input. I'll stick with the Columbus. Figured nothin would be left but the bitterness and probably good to save the hops I really like for another batch. Just wanted to be sure. Thanks again.

Originally intended as an IPA, I tried to scale the IBU down a tad so SWMBO can enjoy it as well.........she's learning as I try to get her away from commercial light beer. I really do appreciate your input though.

Yet another fermentation has not started yet thread dry yeast

This happened to me on Friday with the same yeast on a wit. I had no krausen or airlock activity all weekend. OG was 1.050. Took a hydrometer reading on Monday because I was about to re-pitch and it was at 1.012. First time I have ever seen fermentation without ANY visible signs.

Question about making a stawberry blonde

Adding to the boil or primary you will lose a lot of the strawberry flavor and aroma. For full effect and a good complementing flavor, add it to the secondary.
  20. C

    Always trust your hydrometer.

I racked it last night. I didn't use anything new.....same cleaning/sterilization process and equipment as always. I'm not too worried about it. Definintely going to brew this recipe again though.... with a different yeast.
