what is the best way to get water from a hose before all grain brewing? the water quality in my city has a poor reputation, is there any way to filter it from the hose before i do the mash?

what kind of wort chiller do you guys recommend for a 15 gallon kettle? we can probably only do immersion, and for the time being we'll be doing 5 gallon batches, but we will eventually upgrade to 10 gallon batches so we'll want a chiller that can handle that. any ideas?

When I bought my first kit I was sold two buckets. They said that if you don't transfer to a secondary fermentor after a week or so, then the dead yeast will have a bad effect on the flavor of the beer. is this true? i've heard of some people transferring to a secondary and some swearing that...

currently i'm transferring from the 5 gal pot with a siphon and filtering trub through a sterilized strainer. i really like the idea of gravity fed... do you have to do anything special to keep the trub out?

thanks for the great info! will upgrading to a 10-15 gallon kettle change how I transfer to the fermentor, or how i keep out the trub? i only ask because i notice the the bottom spickets and pressure gauges from doing a quick search online. is there a quick place i can find out more?
