same here mate my first reading before pitching my yeast read just over 1040 ,,but its dropped to 1015 and it still tastes a little bitter ,but ive been advised after 3 weeks in the fermenter and 2 / 3 weeks bottled the harshness should calm down ,,thanks for the reply mate ,,cheers

,i think ill do the same as yourself and leave it in the bottle for 3/4 weeks ,sounds good ,,,my og was just over 1040,,so it has dropped in fermenting ,,thanks for the reply mate ,,cheers

i just checked my airlock after reading you reply and ive got the same problem as you ,the edges of the airlock do need sanded down a bit ,and no doubt thats where the air leak has came from ,,thanks for the reply mate youve been a big help ,,,,peace out

thanks man ,,,i had a look through the lid of the fermenter and there doesnt seem to be any foam left on the top of my ale ,,is it still fermenting ????and after the 3 weeks will the gravity read below 1010 ????

good advice mate ,,3 weeks you say,i thought you could bottle when the hydrometer reads under 1010,,???? will it be ok leaving it for 3 weeks with a air leak ????
