    Putting Ice in Fermenting Bucket

    I was over a friends while they were brewing. Once complete, they dumped a bag of ice in the fermenter and poured the wort in next. Has anyone done this or seen it done with good results?

    Measuring Primer Sugar

    I see most recipes ask for 3/4 cup or corn sugar but I would like to take out the chance of packing the sugar in the cup. So, I would like to be able to maesure it in ounces. Does anyone know the conversion?

    Making a starter??

    I have a 1.75 l whiskey bottle I cleaned out. I was going to start making starters in it. Any suggestions on how to make one? I see everyone talking about it but have never attempted it. My batches have come out pretty good but I want to kick up my process to produce better homebrew. Thanks!

    Help!!! Saison Question

    I made a 5 gallon batch saison. I re-used yeast from a previous saison. The only difference in this one I didn't use spices and added 4 oz acidulated malt.     Cleaning Bucket Fermenter

    I have used some spices that continue to have a scent inside the 5 gallon bucket. I was thinking about soaking the fermenter with a capful of bleach. Is that ok? Or, is there a better way to clean the bucket?

    Cold Crash/Bottling Process Question

    I understand you bring your fermenter down to approx 38 F for a week or two to have everything dropped out and become clear. Now if you rake it and bottle the beer after adding primer sugar of course, do you have to keep it cold or can you shelf it to age? I'm a bit confused....

    Secondary Fermentation Question???

    Foam Everywhere....HELP!

    Brewing a brown ale. Added Wyeast 1056. Came home yesterday to foam coming out of the airlock. The piston in the airlock was firing like an engine rod. Any suggestions?
