    Man, I love Apfelwein

    Still not clear after 2 months? Used a pack of KC finings and still no go after another 4 days. Could I have a pectin problem? If so, how to fix.

    Hard to say man, but with all of that malt, I would have expected that you should have had an og of atleast 50 for that recipe if not a little more. I have never used Windsor, only Nottingham. I would like to try it though. I heard that it leaves the beer not as dry. I might try 2 batches...

    I would have let it go longer. That's gonna be some really weak beer if it was done fermenting. I've had active fermentation stop and the gravity will still drop over the next few days. A general rule is to do 1wk primary, 2wk secondary, and 3wks in the bottle. Could you post your recipe?

    Anyone heard of this? My SWMBO tried this and loved it. It's pretty sweet stuff. Reminds me of Castiel Red(sp?) mixed with Woodchuck pear cider. They used to mix this up at the local bar for the girls. If so, is it possible to replicate this with extracts?

    I did not get the alcohol boost. It's a pretty big pack at 24.5oz though. I wish I knew the concentrations of some of the stuff in there so I could at least adjust the recipe later.

    I've had a batch in my carboy since 12/5/06 and it still hasn't perfectly cleared yet. The only difference is that I used Lalvin K1-V1116. Could this by why? It looks like your bottle that is on the right....

    I currently have 3 kegs. 2 of them are definitley cornys. I know because it says it on them and the gas in needs the 12pt socket. On my bastard keg that I just picked up yesterday....it really doesn't say anything to tell me what kind it is. Both the gas in and bev out are the same size 7/8...

    Is is true that if you run your beer through a filtering system like the one on morebeer that it will speed up conditioning? http://morebeer.com/product.html?product_id=16769 The description says that it will accelerate conditioning to just a few days.
