Ive brewed this three times and it is always a crowd pleaser. I do a full boil but other than that its true to the recipe.

So how do you prevent this using nibs?

I have the same freezer and six fit perfectly. I have the CO2 tank on the outside, just easier to monitor that way. This seems to be the ideal size for my consumption and ability to have enough choices on tap along with my mini fridge full of other craft beers. Nice build guys.

I am assuming your water heater is in the garage? You could do what you say but it certainly won't meet code. If you do tap into your gas line you should at least add a good shut off valve. Your burner is also made for propane so if you have natural gas you will need to do a conversion...

Temperature comes into play as well but I usually get 3 brew days out of mine.

I brew the same way, I simply cool the wort in the garage then carry the boil kettle downstairs and drain into my conical.

Blichmann makes a great product. Metal is metal no matter what you paid for it or what brand is on it and that can mean that heat can cause problems or there can be defects. I am glad you were taken care of.

The people who complain about it are likely partial boilers. I prefer to boil at 5.75 gal. which puts me at just under 5 gallons by the time my wort is complete.

I would love to see a 6 gallon stainless Carboy with a top similar to the blichmann conical to allow easy additions like fruits or woods during fermentation. The time savings for cleaning would be worth the price.

I always see these debates and have wondered why no one sells a stainless carboy?
