    Homebrew Club Fayetteville, NC??

It looks like I'm relocating to Fayetteville from St. Louis and would love to talk to some people about putting together a brew club. Is it safe to assume that everyone responding to this thread is still interested?

Corny keg with 3 disconnect posts

I have four of those myself. I was told that they were used for distilled water storage at some lab, so the level sensor let them know how much was left. I'm thinking of taking the probe apart and making a temp probe out of them and using the cornys for primary fermentation.

Fermwrap and Carboy Jacket? (for warm fermentation)

I have an old school heating pad without an auto shutoff that is rated at 60w. I thought I'd be safe and wrap some very thick material around it (think quadply canvas folded over 4 times) to make it more consistent and to hold the pad on. With that on "low" I accidently overshot my and hit 75...

    Tip for BIAB guys

I use something like this: http://goo.gl/3ERr0 I have an older looking one I picked up at a second hand store and it has held 10# of wet grain thus far. I do add additional cross members going perpendicular to the supports it already has from a broken SS laundry rack I found in the alleyway...

    Newbie from St Louie

You can also check out the International Tap Room, which isn't far from the ABINBEV brewery. They have one of the best tap selections in STL. I would also recommend visiting Six Row brewery and Ray Hill's. Six row I think is celebrating their one year anniversary Saturday, so that should be a...

Well I don't know what your arrangements are like but now is the time to do a lager, it sure is cold enough outside! But I feel your pain, I don't have nearly the control I want there either.

    First Partial Mash, Amber Ale

This weekend I'm planning on my first partial mash, step two towards all grain. I'm shooting for an amber ale. Here's the recipe: 5lbs of Briess Two row. 3.3 lbs of Coopers Dark Ale LME 1lb of Crystal 10L 1oz Cascade @ 60 min 1oz Northern Brewer @ 30 min 1 oz of Fuggle @ 10 minute...

    First Batch

So, I can finally claim victory on my first batch of brew. I was worried at first as I intended it more of a "dry run" than actually planning for anything drinkable. I brewed on 7/25. One week after, I took a peek in the fermenter to see what was going on and man did it smell sharp! Cider...

    Hello from STL

They've been slop almost all year. But then again, if a St. Louis team is ever consistent it means that they are loosing, so there is always that.

    Hello from STL

Hey all, I've been lurking in the site for about 3 months now, and finally decided to join up so I can actually communicate out. Just started brewing about a month ago and am about to open up my first batch, we'll see how it is!
