    Double milling grain?

Good point. I've used quite an array of systems. Everything from turkey fryer on propane to basic 3V, then 3V eHERMS. Then others including all in one, which wasn't for me, and now a 2 vessel with a direct fired biab mash tun/bk (40g) and hlt/fermenter (27g). Flow hasn't been an issue for me...

    Double milling grain?

Hello. I'm seeing more and more Youtubers, and others talk about double milling their grain with seemingly expensive equipment on hand, so presumably a decent mill too. Is this technique becoming common practice? I've brewed many, many batches and have not been doing this. I had a BarleyCrusher...

    Bulk priming for bottling

    - Psi will drop significantly as temp drops as long as it is not still fermenting. - I have used 3/4 cup to bulk prime in a 19L keg, however that was a loooong time ago so YMMV - you could bottle a few points shy of terminal gravity and skip the priming entirely.

I was trying to avoid a blowout. More details below.

Yep... blowouts aka brownouts mean something very specific to parentfolk. Lol.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

@ClaudiusB, that is a work of art. Wow. @Brewbuzzard, the lid mount is an option too. I used to do a lid mounted TC pipe on another kettle with a direct vent outside, but I moved to a different house and don't have a window near the brewing area now.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

I'm curious RE instrument tee vs regular tee for the steam condenser. If I use the former, I have to mount the condenser lower on the side of the pot due to clearance with the lid. Not really a big deal as its 40g and I do 25g batches, but wondering on this before put a hole in the kettle. Thx.

Planting this summer: L'Acadie Blanc, NY Muscat, and Baco Noir. How far apart? Soil needs? Repelling deer and other beasts? Thx.

Office chairs - big and tall?

I am hoping for recommendations on good but not horrificly expensive big and tall office chairs. I had a high backed cloth one from Staples for close to 23 years that was amazingly comfortable, and when it finally disintegrated, I spent about 300 bucks Canadian on a mesh office chair. It is...

How old is your Star San?

I had a bottle of StarSan that was several years old, not sure how many. It turned light brown-ish and smelled like fish.

What I did for/with Mead today

Moved a batch to fridge to cold crash before racking.

    Best mead you've made?

The Costco honey is a consistently good option. The best one I did was that with Lalvin 71b to about 12% abv, with juice and zest of lemon, lime, and grapefruit. As a still mead. It was beautiful. The absolute worst, by far was with allegedly ultra premium local "wildflower" honey which had a...

    Electric Jockey Box?

I found a used fridge that should hold 2-3 kegs for cheap so going with that.

    Chillzer

I may do this. As I have all the components, including a dead keezer.

    Electric Jockey Box?

I'm about to haul another large, heavy, & dead keezer out of the basement.. sigh. Has anyone tried making an electric jockey box, essentially a tiny fridge with a cold plate? Did it work ok? I need something compact and cheap as a stop gap measure for now.
