Keg lube and reseating the closure work great for small, slow leaks. A buddy of mine did that with his pinlocks if he ever had a problem. I never saw it take more than one reseat.

That's what I've done. Actually I just fold it thin and over 3-5 times and pop in on a shelf I have in the freezer for brewing stuff. I didn't worry about the time frame, but I happened to use it up in three 5 gallon batches over the course of a month. I did make a starter every time...

Hehe, it's a root beet float! Actually, while I would normally agree, Guiness does a pretty good job of having a white head on an otherwise dark beer...but it does taste surprisingly like water...

I'm not terribly sure, but you might try subbing some Munich malt for the strong malty flavor. I know that's a light to dull brown, but without brewing a couple batches I don't know what to suggest other than some trial and error.
